Counselor - Mobile Unit Clinic - Hohenwald

JOB TITLE:  Counselor - Mobile Unit, Full-time                                     DEPT: Hohenwald - Mobile Unit Clinic

SCHEDULE:  Mon - Fri; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm                                         SALARY: D.O.E.

Mobile Unit Counselor Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide care and support to clients needing services.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assess and review client records. 
  • Great intrapersonal skills working with clients and staff.
  • Monitor progress of clients and their needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and other staff.
  • Specialized treatment plans
  • Prepares and maintains reports and case histories in accordance with State of Tennessee licensure requirements, Department of Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities/Division of Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Services policies, and BVI quality standards
  • To meet program needs, must be willing to submit to flexible schedules and duty assignments

Mobile Unit Counselor Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills.  Ability to type 30 wpm.  Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs and Electronic Health Record software
  • TN licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor or working towards licensure, preferred; 
    • optional NAADAC certified addiction counselor.  
    • If in personal recovery, demonstrable commitment to own recovery; two years of continuous sobriety is desired. 
  • Pass Background Check and Drug Screen, required
  • Keeps a current CPR and First Aid certifications, required
  • Valid TN D.L. with "F" endorsement required; "F" endorsement can be obtained once hired

Mobile Unit Counselor Education and/or Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferred
  • Clinical License - LCSW, MLSW, LPC or close to gaining licensure, preferred
  • One-year minimum experience with addictions, but willing to accept with only addiction experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
