LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse, Castalian Springs

JOB TITLE: LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse (Full Time)

LOCATION: Castalian Springs

SCHEDULE: Day Shift (M-F); some afternoon / weekend coverage

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Takes client's vital signs, treats wounds, and evaluates physical condition of clients as needed in emergency situations
  • Maintains record of persons treated, and prepares incident reports
  • Completes client medical history to be added to the clinical record
  • Performs tuberculosis testing on all clients at time of admission and employees and makes appropriate referrals for individual's exhibiting S/S of TB or presenting with positive TB test
  • Is responsible for the follow-up and documentation of medical information into the client's clinical record
  • Completes the medical admission process and assists the medical records department, as needed
  • Is available to answer medical questions after hours as needed by on-call staff
  • Performs other duties as required or needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Active Unencumbered Nursing License in the State of Tennessee, required
  • Pass Background Check and Drug Screen, required
  • Must have strong computer skills with ability to type 30 wpm
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills and strong organizational skills with paperwork
  • Keeps a current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Valid TN D.L. with "F" endorsement required; endorsement can be obtained once hired

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Nursing required
  • High School Diploma or GED
