SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR JOB SUMMARY
Counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance with substance abuse problems, such as alcohol and drug dependencies, by performing the essential duties. By reason of proficiency and aptitude, has been assigned additional duties to aid in the day-to-day operations of the clinical program and given the opportunity to expand personal/professional supervisory skills. Substance abuse counselors must have a responsibility and a dedication to the overall harmonious functioning of Buffalo Valley, Inc. at our Hohenwald, TN location.

Buffalo Valley is looking for individuals in long-term recovery from substance use to be a Recovery Navigators (“Navigators”). The Buffalo Valley Recovery Navigators are responsible for meeting patients in the hospital when they present due to an overdose, are experiencing active withdrawal, or present with a primary substance use disorder, to connect them with treatment and recovery resources. The goal of this program is to break the cycle of overdose and increase the number of individuals who are connected with treatment and recovery services by meeting patients in the emergency department and by sharing their lived experience. Using their personal lived experience of addiction and recovery and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) training, BVI Recovery Navigators need to be incredibly effective at connecting with the patients they meet and successful in ultimately placing the person in treatment for substance use disorder
Buffalo Valley is seeking an experienced Dietary/Technician to oversee and manage food service operations in a fast-paced detox facility.
As a member of the case management team, assesses the needs of clients and coordinates community resources to assist clients in obtaining permanent housing.
Responsible for care of individuals located in Castalian Springs, TN.
Provides care for clients dealing with co-occurring disorders in a residential Substance Abuse treatment setting
As a member of the multidisciplinary team, provides client care and monitors the operation of the facility evenings, nights and weekends by performing the following duties at Buffalo Valley’s Detox facility located in Nashville, TN.
