POSITION AVAILABLE: RN (Registered Nurse) Operations Detox Nursing Supervisor - Nashville, TN
START DATE: Full- Time Position
SALARY: Depending on experience.
Provides care and services to clients who are functionally, physically or socially impaired within the scope of license at our facilities. Provides nursing supervision/leadership duties to include medication management and administration, assessment, treatment, supervision of direct care staff, and will also be required to provide on-call clinical consultation to the staff as needed.
A few of thedutiesinclude the following. (Other duties will be assigned). Comply with all BVI Policies & Procedures, State and Federal laws, as well as State Residential, Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient treatment and Joint Commission requirements as provided to me by BVI administration/Operations Department.
1. Nursing Responsibilities:
A. Completes daily/ weekly/ monthly audits and reviews of the client charts. Ensure staff has completed all required documentation prior to leaving their shift for the day.
B. Administer medications in accordance with professional practice standards.
C. Supervise and direct LPN nurse(s) in provision of care to clients.
D. Conducts groups, lectures, videos as warranted.
E. In detox, complete ASAMs daily and groups daily.
F. Promptly notify appropriate staff of any building emergencies or concerns such as fire alarms, security concerns or breakdown in any major system (plumbing, dishwasher, etc).
G. Develops and implements the plan of care for each client with consultation by the RN or DON.
H. Responsible to report or ensure that a report is made re: client incidents, as required by JCAHO or State policy, including reports of suspected abuse, and neglect.
I. Provides backup coverage as needed.
2. Directs client plans of care and service delivery.
A. Implements, monitors and supervises staff providing care in accordance with client's care plans in consultation with the RN or DON.
B. Consults with the team members and utilization review staff regarding client status, plans of care and assessments including documentation required for participation in the various programs.
C. Responsible for the monitoring and stocking of medicine including OTC and/or floor stock for detox clients.
D. Consults with DON, RN, physicians, Nurse Practitioners and other medical providers on an as needed basis to ensure the well-being of all clients. Plan, schedule, organize, and direct activities and services for the 33 bed medically monitored detox unit, OBOT, and IOP clinics including the following: 1) maintaining 24/7 nursing staff schedule and publishes it at least one month in advance; 2) maintaining appropriate medical inventory/ordering supplies; 3) provide on-going training and accountability for nursing staff; 4) supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff in conjunction with DON; 5) maintain adequate prn pool and on-call schedule; and 6) monitor client flow through BVI detox to ensure appropriate utilization of nursing staff.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills. Applicant will meet programming needs, must be willing to submit to flexible schedules and duty assignments. Bachelors degree preferred, but not required. Prefer applicant with at least one year direct addiction experience and/or MH experience. Requires: A valid TN D.L. with "F" endorsement required for position.
